Over 220 visitors attended the end-of-year Celebration of Learning at ConVal Regional High School on June 7.

There was a wide array of student work on display, from thoughtful, StoryCorps-inspired audio interviews in English classes to exhibits on student entrepreneurship. There were displays about local agriculture and hydroponic gardening.

ConVal High School’s Celebration of Learning is a collaborative event that showcases the accomplishments of its students, including coursework, projects, original artwork, and performances. The event will take place on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 6-8 pm.

Representative student work from a wide variety of disciplines will be showcased in different locations:

8th Grade Orientation for Students and Parents brought a crowd into the ConVal Gymnasium on May 30.

Principal Gib  West opened the event and stressed the importance of getting involved, as early as possible, in the many activities that the high school offers to its students. School Counseling Director Kim Chandler recommended to check in with the school nurses to ensure that all updated information is in the student’s file and to make first contact with the students’

On Wednesday, eighty-six students were honored at the final Student Support Team (SST) breakfast for the year. The students were recognized for their positive contributions to ConVal High School, such as for being a good friend, showing responsibility, making improvements, displaying good citizenship, and for making a difference to the ConVal community in other ways.

Junior August George has been accepted to screen his film “Le Nôtre Héritage” (“Our Heritage”) at the New Hampshire High School Short Film Festival. Fellow junior Amber Ruston was the assistant editor. The film was created in Mr. Levesques’ Photo 2 class as a photo film project.

“Le Nôtre Héritage” was one of 27 student-produced short films that were selected to screen at the 2018 New Hampshire High School Short Film Festival (NHHSSFF).

ConVal Senior Garrett Shows was a featured panelist on “The Exchange” with Laura Knoy this morning. The show was dedicated to the topic “Intelligent Lives: Challenging Perceptions About Intelligence and Ability.”

The show explained the benefits of inclusion, both for those who are differently abled and for the general student population at ConVal Regional High School.
