ConVal has partnered with KSC for the TRIO program, which provides educational counseling, workshops, summer programming, tutoring, and STEM exposure for accepted students. TRIO serves students who will be the first in their family to complete a 4-year college degree and come from moderate income backgrounds.

ConVal’s music teachers Jim Wickham and Krystal Morin delivered a guest lecture at Keene State as part of the college’s Music Education Guest Lecture Series.

Their presentation, “Google Apps in Music Classrooms,” explored the ways in which regular technology tools that are contained in the G Suite for Education can be uniquely adapted to assist in the teaching of band and chorus ensembles and how they can personalize student learning opportunities.

Congratulations to Garrett Shows and Andres Tourgee who were the co-recipients of the 2018 New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) Walter A. Smith Award. Shows and Tourgee received their commemorative plaques at a ceremony in the Grappone Center in Concord on September 17.

The NHIAA Walter A. Smith Award is given annually to an individual who has overcome special circumstances and contributed significantly and positively to Interscholastic Athletics.

On Thursday, September 6, 2018, Abe Ewing’s Manufacturing students welcomed industry representatives to share about the manufacturing industry.

The guest speakers included company representatives from BAE Systems, Hitchner, MilliporeSigma, Monadnock Paper Mill, NH Ball Bearings, and the NH Manufacturing Extension Partnership.

Students were able to hear about job openings and expectations from the perspective of “in the field”
