8th Grade Orientation for Students and Parents brought a crowd into the ConVal Gymnasium on May 30.

Principal Gib  West opened the event and stressed the importance of getting involved, as early as possible, in the many activities that the high school offers to its students. School Counseling Director Kim Chandler recommended to check in with the school nurses to ensure that all updated information is in the student’s file and to make first contact with the students’

The theme for this year’s Children and the Arts Festival is “A Pirate’s Life for Me.”

On Wednesday, students from Mrs. Seale’s fourth-grade class at Francestown Elementary School and students from ConVal High School collaborated on creating a pirate-themed story in Ms. Vanat’s English classroom. The collaboration was inspired by District Arts Integration Coordinator Jeannie Connolly.

Ben Putnam, head of the ConVal Art Department, meets informally with one of his students to share the narrative feedback that is included on the student’s report card for the third quarter.

The narratives balance observations on the student’s successes as well as considerations for improvement in class. Also included in the feedback is the student’s progress on ConVal High School’s 21st century skills.

Social Studies teacher Olivia Bregani and Art teacher Ben Putnam took eleven students on a tour of France over April vacation to experience the art and architecture of Europe’s most visited country.

The group toured a number of cities, including Paris, Avignon, Marseille, Nîmes, and Nice.

On the way, the students saw:
