I'm so excited to be able to share with you that we are going to be workshopping an amazingly funny play called "Puffs: or Seven Increasingly eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic" by Matt Cox!
The world seems strangely familiar to any of you who might be familiar with a certain boy wizard. This hysterical 90-minute one-act will keep you entertained from beginning to end!
We do not currently have plans for a performance. For now, we're looking forward to getting together with other theatre-minded people and having some fun with this text!
We will either have two casts (one for each cohort - if there is enough interest) or one cast, and everyone interested will be involved in some way!
Please fill out this form if you are interested!
E-mail Mrs. Moore (emoore@conval.edu) if you have questions!

The entire class prepared by first reading about the structure of the eye and constructing paper models of it. After discussing the models as a whole class over Zoom, Gold Cohort and Remote-only students worked on extension questions about vision while in-person students completed the dissection.
The following week, the students' roles will switch and the Gold cohort students will dissect while the Blue Cohort and Remote-only students work on other learning activities.
Ms. Young used the following Flex Friday as an optional opportunity for Remote only students to come to the Anatomy tent and dissect the eye under her supervision.
The dissection is an important part of the Anatomy curriculum because it allows students to see how the cornea, pupil, iris, lens, retina, optic nerve, and muscles of the eye come together to enable the eye to function.
Ms. Young's favorite aspect of the dissection is the students' "ah-ha" moment. Experiencing how an actual eye is put together allows them to make sense of their paper-and-pencil studies to arrive at a deeper understanding.
"I love hearing them say, 'Ooooohhhh, okay,' because I know they are getting it. It's awesome." Young said.

The model envisioned two student cohorts that rotate weekly for in-person learning and remote learning on an alternating schedule, with the option of a third group of students remaining entirely remote as per family choice.
While the hybrid model demanded additional technologies and new skills from teachers who are teaching both in-person and remote students, the hybrid model was seen to provide maximum benefits for everyone involved.
It most closely resembles what students already know and expect school to be like. In-person instruction has the advantage of providing opportunities for hands-on activities like science labs as well as career and technical education (CTE) courses. Learning in-person also allows them to make individual connections with teachers and peers.
Live remote instruction permits students to interact with their teachers and peers on a real-time basis. Classroom discussions are being moderated by the teachers between remote students and students in class or in tents. In addition, Google Classroom offers the opportunity for written exchanges and responses to teacher-chosen discussion questions.
Student feedback thus far indicates that they appreciate the opportunity of both options of the hybrid model while following a predictable schedule. ConVal's Blue & Gold plan positions the high school for maximum flexibility along a continuum of blended learning environments which can quickly be adapted, as needed, in response to changing conditions.

During staggered dismissal at the end of each block, teachers sanitize their hands, put on gloves, and use the provided Q.T.3 spray bottle to spray the top surfaces of all the desks, tables, and chairs that were used during class. Once the surfaces have been sprayed, teachers return to the first desk and wipe it using a UniFirst microfiber cleaning cloth.
When the cleaning is done, the microfiber cloths are folded over, turning the dirty side of the towel against itself in order to allow for four different clean uses of the same cloth. The cloths are changed on a daily basis.
