ConVal High School science and oceanography teacher Ken Cloutier received a Sponsor Recognition Award of $750 in the Ocean Awareness Student Contest, which announced its High School winners today.  Over 20 of Cloutier’s students submitted to the contest this year, in addition to the 14 students he sponsored last year too.

“I like to find opportunities for my students to combine art and science” says Cloutier.

ConVal students of German wear traditional German costumes and perform old German songs and dances at Schnitzelfest New Hampshire in Hillsborough. Schnitzelfest has entertained and successfully brought authentic German food to thousands at this fun event, which is held each year during the beautiful New England fall foliage season. ConVal students have participated in Schnitzelfest activities for more than a decade.

The ConVal Regional High School Counseling Department has announced that sophomores Dominique Wheeler, Lily Denehy, and Mya Poluchov were selected to represent ConVal at the 2016 Hugh O’Brian Leadership Conference in May.

The HOBY Conference is a weekend-long program held at the St. Methodios Center in Contoocook, and will host sophomore student leaders from across New Hampshire.

Principal Brian Pickering and Science teacher Dr. Moira Milne congratulate senior Emma Canty-Carrel who is the recipient of the Award of Excellence by the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists.

The National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists is a membership organization chartered in 2014 to inspire and support all K-12 and college students who wish to devote their lives to the sciences and technology.

Seniors and interested students spend TASC talking with representatives from local colleges and universities. The schools offer information regarding admissions, academics and student life, as well as brochures to take home.

During a TASC event geared towards upperclassmen, a representative from Nashua Community College discusses the Running Start Program. It allows students to earn high school and college credits by taking college classes.
