Course registration for the 2018-2019 school year will begin on February 2, 2018. Counselors will meet with:
- Juniors on February 5, 2018
- Sophomores on February 12, 2018 and
- Freshmen on February 19, 2018
to hand out course selection sheets and review the registration process. School counselors will be coming to these respective TASC rooms and will address the students while they are scheduling for the week.
Course registration sheets are available online or in the counseling office. The Program of Studies 2018-2019 can also be found on the school website.
Following these meetings, students will be assigned an indivual appointment with their school counselor to select their courses. Students will be logging into the PowerSchool portal to make course selections this year. They can do this prior to their appointment or at the appointment, whichever they prefer.
Students are strongly encouraged to keep their assigned appointment; passes will be delivered through first block classes. Parents are encouraged to reach out to the school counselor if they have any questions or would like to come in for a meeting.
Students should communicate with their current teachers and their families to make thoughtful decisions about the courses they select. We encourage students to read the Program of Studies 2018-2019 and to use the Course Registration Sheets prior to making selections in the PowerSchool portal. School counselors will review these requests before they are final and will make sure students have everything they need to graduate.
Teachers are encouraged to make recommendations for courses in the PowerSchool portal. Please see your department chair for more information.
The registration process will wrap up at the end of March.
Students Coming From Middle Schools or Independent Schools
8th grade students will begin the registration process at their middle schools the week of February 12, 2018.
High school counselors will provide informational sessions at both SMS and GBS. Middle school students will complete this process with their middle school counselor. All questions should be directed to the respective middle school.
Independent school students and other transfer students are invited to an informational session at 9:30 am on Friday, February 16, 2018. Please RSVP by emailing kchandler@conval.edu.
All 8th grade parents are invited to an informational session on February 19, 2018 at 6:30 pm at ConVal.
