ConVal Staff, Students, Parents Attend MTSS-B Workshop

Dean of Faculty Michelle Voto, Dean of Students Steve Bartsch, Director of School Counseling Kim Chandler as well as several students and parents attended a workshop on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavioral Health & Wellness (MTSS-B) at the Falls Event Center in Manchester recently.

The MTSS-B framework has been shown to improve student engagement, create school climates and cultures that are positive and inclusive of all students, and improve student academic and behavioral outcomes.

This interactive, hands-on training was provided by the University of New Hampshire for school-level leadership teams to prepare for the implementation of an evidence-based multi-tiered system of support framework.

Participants focused on how to establish Tier 1 “universal” systems. School teams learned how to organize their learning community to include diverse school and community voice, create a positive school-wide system, align multiple efforts and resources and how to create a coherent, consistent, and positive environment for all students.
