Three Members Of “Educators Rising” Are Dallas-Bound

In March, the Educators Rising club at ConVal Regional High School sent students to a statewide competition at the Southern New Hampshire University’s School of Education where they engaged in the series of performance-based events to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and growing leadership in education.

The students’ participation was a first in the history of the club which is open to juniors and seniors enrolled in the Region 14 Teacher Education Program. They competed in a blend of individual and team events in categories such as public speaking, ethical dilemma, creative lecture, job interview skills, and children’s literature.

Three ConVal students — senior Leah Stone, junior Tracie Dailey, and junior Molly Reed — were selected for their creativity, commitment, and professionalism to move on to the national Educator Rising competition which will be held in Dallas, Texas, from June 22-25, 2019. Congratulations on qualifying for the national conference!

The Educators Rising organization is a division of Phi Delta Kappa International (PDK), a professional organization that supports students who are interested in education-related careers. PDK helps guide young students on a path to becoming accomplished teachers, beginning in high school and extending through college into the profession.
