During ConVal’s flexible learning block TASC, students can choose to work with a peer tutor to get extra help with some concept they need to more fully understand. In this picture, a senior, who is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), explains to a junior the phenomenon of wave harmonics and the way to properly calculate them. A harmonic of a wave is a component frequency of the signal that is an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency. Wave harmonics are studied in various disciplines, including music and acoustics, electronic power transmission, radio technology, etc. The term is typically applied when considering the frequencies of repeating signals, such as sinusoidal waves. Under specific circumstances, a harmonic is the signal whose frequency is a whole-numbered multiple of the frequency of some other given signal.
