The NH Business and Industry Association (BIA) is New Hampshire’s statewide chamber of commerce. Their task is to monitor and to respond to issues that directly impact businesses of all industries and sizes, and to provide them with a direct connection to the legislative process.
Once a year, the BIA publishes Enterprise, a magazine that is devoted to discussing the challenges and successes of New Hampshire businesses. On the cover of this year’s edition is Anthony Clark, a ConVal High School student who completed an internship with Graphicast in Jaffrey. Next to Anthony is Val Zanchuk, Graphicast’s president and past chair of the BIA.
In the magazine, Zanchuk discusses how his company has teamed up with ConVal’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program to provide internship opportunities to students who are interested in a manufacturing career. “I have an intern from ConVal,” Zanchuk says in the article, referring to Clark. “He’s learning about design, he’s learning about working on machining, he’s going to be working on programming machinery and he’ll be learning about plant operations by being here.” You can read the article “Manufacturing leads New Hampshire’s Economy” by clicking here and read the online version of Enterprise magazine, in its entirety, by following this link.
The NH BIA represents more than 400 members in a variety of industries, including advanced manufacturing, high technology, professional services, financial services, healthcare, hospitality and tourism, public utilities, higher education, and insurance. Member firms employ 89,000 people throughout the state, which represents one in seven jobs, and contribute $4.5 billion annually to the state’s economy. Enterprise is published by McLean Communications and is distributed statewide.
