On October 9, Athletic Director John Reitnauer received an email from WMUR, thanking ConVal for its contributions to the annual “New Hampshire Tackles Hunger” campaign.
The letter on behalf of WMUR Sports Director Jamie Staton reads as follows:
“Congratulations! Your local food bank, the Peterborough Food Pantry, has reached $1,045, which means your food pantry has received a matching gift of $500 through the generosity of the Lois Roy Dickerman Fund. Your total including this is $1,545.
In seven years, “NH Tackles Hunger” has collected 455,000 pounds of food which equals 380,000 meals for NH families. I want to personally congratulate you and your team for a job well done. This is by far the most successful NH Tackles Hunger Fundraiser we have ever done.
With your generous help, the total collected this year was $81,818.45 which includes school donations made, the Dead River $10,000 gift and the matching $500 from the Lois Roy Dickerman Fund of the NH Charitable Foundation for each school that met or exceeded $500.00 in donations. This year’s cash converted to pounds totals 196,363 pounds providing 163,636 meals to our neighbors experiencing hunger.
Thank you for all of your help. We couldn’t have done it without you!”
