On Saturday, February 27, 2021, the ConVal Ocean Bowl team placed 2nd as a school in the Nor’easter Bowl, a regional National Science Ocean Bowl (NOSB) competition.
The Nor’easter Bowl is an annual, regional contest of the National Ocean Bowl (NOSB) that was created by the Consortium for Ocean Leadership. The competition tests high school students’ knowledge of marine sciences, including marine biology; chemical, physical, and biological oceanography; marine geology and geophysics; marine engineering; and marine policy.
The competition was held virtually this year and students have been practicing all year via Zoom. Hopefully, in the future, the Oceanography course can resume making the ConVal Ocean Bowl team even more competitive!
Congratulations to the team members Catilin Beal, Lydia Cleveland, Abraham Dreher, Violet Fletcher, Leah Krason, Eva McCullough, Gabriella Oja, Avery Pope, Conor Simmons, Mary Visingard!
