Project CRASH

May 13, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Our district doesn’t want the class of 2016 going out in a crash. The ConVal Substance Abuse Task Force is conducting a mock crash at the high school on May 13, 2016. The mock crash aims to send a hard-hitting reminder of the dangers and consequences of unsafe driving behaviors — such as distracted and/or impaired driving and not buckling up — prior to prom.
The ConVal Substance Abuse Task Force is also using the event to remind parents, grandparents and caregivers about the importance to talk with their teen to reinforce teen driving laws, and to set their own family driving rules.
The mock crash uses real crashed vehicles set up on school grounds and student participants to dramatically act out roles as crash victims. The school’s entire student body will watch the demonstration and learn how emergency responders conduct rescue efforts in real-time. Parents are also invited and encouraged to attend.
Participating in the event are Peterborough Police, Peterborough Fire & Rescue, Antrim Fire & Rescue, Jellison Funeral Home and DHART, as well as various students.
