On Monday, August 30, about 170 freshmen and transfer students attended new student orientation.
They met with their school counselors and teachers, practiced finding their classrooms, and were guided throughout the morning by 25 upperclassmen. These students volunteered their time on the last day of their summer vacation to help our new students get off to a good start. Their key advice: get involved with a club or other activity, and don’t worry.
New students will soon find their way around campus. The morning ended with an ice cream social and time for students to connect with old and new friends.
