The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a standardized test administered by the College Board and co-sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
The PSAT is a great primer for the SAT, and even the ACT, but it’s more than just a trial run. PSAT scores are used to identify National Merit Scholars and award merit scholarships.
The PSAT/NMSQT is an optional test and will be administered to 11th graders on October 13, 2021, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
- The test is geared toward students in 11th grade; however, students in 10th grade may also take the test.
- The cost is $18 per test; fee waivers are available for income-eligible students.
- The PSAT has two sections: Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing.
- The test lasts for 2 hours and 45 minutes, excluding breaks.
The deadline for registration and payment is October 1st. Students should sign up in the counseling office.
