Thanks to an intraschool loan from the Region 14 Applied Technology Center (ATC), the engineering department’s Ultimaker 3D printer is currently on display in the ConVal Library Learning Commons.
The printer is programmed by using the Cura application that supports three-dimensional modeling and uses polyamide (nylon) filament as the print medium.
The Ultimaker has two camera views which allow onlookers to see live what is currently being printed. So far, the printer has created a model of a human heart and a hand.
