ACLT Retreat Sets Action Items For New School Year

The district-wide Administrative Council Leadership Team (ACLT) met for an extended retreat that focused on instructional leadership. The meeting took place in the ConVal High School Library Learning Commons.

Part of the larger group was the ConVal High School administrative team which consists of Principal Michelle Voto, Dean of Students Steve Bartsch, Director of School Counseling Kim Chandler, Director of the Applied Technology Center Jen Kiley, Athletic Director John Reitnauer, Special Education Administrator Michael Lucow, and teacher administrators May Goldthwaite-Gagne, Greg Morris, and Carol Young.

The group focused on teacher supports, reviewed research and developed action items to impact instruction and engage students. Specifically, they concentrated on the ways in which teacher can more effectively address the physical, social, emotional, and aesthetic aims that are associated with educating the whole student.

The following week, many of the same group of educators are scheduled to work with QED Foundation consultants Kari Thierer and Kim Carter to learn how to give and receive constructive feedback on their own teaching and learning practices.
