Congresswoman Annie Kuster hosted a panel discussion about college costs and affordability in the Lucy Hurlin Theatre. The panel discussion was a TASC Talk and open to juniors and seniors.
Rep Kuster was joined by ConVal seniors Madeline Ciocci and Alex Williams; Karen Schedin from Rivier College; Teri Berube from NHHEAF; Mark Rubenstein from Granite State College; Eric Kostecki and Karen Fabianski from ConVal High School; Tom Raffio from NH Department of Education; and Lizy Gonzalez from Nashua Community College.
The discussion of the panelists centered around academic preparation for college, determining the best fit for the student and the intended program of study, loan options, scholarships as well as internship opportunities that students should take advantage of once they are in college.
Williams and Ciocci shared their won experiences applying to college. Williams will attend Endicott College in Massachusetts to pursue Interior Design, a program with a 100% placement record for graduates. Ciocci will pursue a German Language and Theatre Arts major at Middlebury College in Vermont.
