Black History Month Celebration: Eddie Robinson

Today, in honor of Black History Month, we celebrate Eddie Robinson (1919-2007).

Eddie Robinson was one of the greatest college football coaches to ever walk the sidelines. He coached at Grambling State University, a historic Black College, from 1941-1997.

During that time, Coach Robinson and his teams collected over 400 victories, placing him third for most victories in college football.

Although the victories are impressive, it was the values that Coach Robinson instilled in his players that made him so special. From day one of starting at Grambling, he preached to his players to say  “I am somebody” and “I am here to make a difference.”
