On January 12, more than 120 parents joined ConVal students in an Open House. This “Celebration of Learning” was organized by the Chair of the Science Department Carol Young but included students from all academic departments and the Regional 14 Applied Technology Center.
For more than two hours, hallways were transformed into photo galleries and into showcases for woodworking classes. In the Lucy Hurlin Theatre, students shared original poetry and speeches devoted aesthetics and ideas. Classrooms and the ConVal cafeteria served as the locations for demonstrations, performances, and poster board presentations.
As Dean of Faculty Gib West noted, “For our school community, the evening provided over one hundred students and their teachers with a ‘stage’ to share their academic accomplishments and passions. It was a great way to share our students’ work with the public.” For a parent perspective on the evening’s events, please see Cindy Griffin’s letter to the editor in the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript here.
