Seven of Mr. Wickham’s music students met this week to start a new band. Going by the working name Contemporary Band, the group is made up of Mr. Wickham’s current and former Introduction to Guitar and Concert Band students.
The goal of Contemporary Band is to provide more opportunities for students to perform guitar and keyboard for large audiences. The students began their collaboration with the song Sliver, written and recorded by Nirvana in 1990.
They hope to add new members and are especially looking for keyboardists. Any ConVal student interested in joining, and renaming, Contemporary Band is encouraged to let Mr. Wickham know.
