ConVal A Capella Ensembles Perform At Players

The main stage at the Peterborough Players served as the venue for the first-ever “An Evening of A Capella” concert. Both ConVal’s boys and girls a capella groups, the MorinTunes and the Clef Hangers, each performed several selections from their respective repertoires.

In addition to the ConVal groups, the Manchester West Chamber Choir performed a series of songs, as did the Plymouth State University Mixed Emotions women’s ensemble and the Plymouth State University Vocal Order men’s group. A highlight of the evening was the unscheduled joint performance of the song “Singing A Capella,” for which the Vocal Order invited the MorinTunes up on stage.

ConVal Chorus teacher Krystal Morin announced to audience applause that the evening might be the beginning of an annual tradition. The event, which was a fundraiser for the music program at ConVal High School, was co-sponsored by the Peterborough Players and the Peterborough Folk Music Society.
