ConVal Select Choir Wins High School Sing-Off Competition

Over the weekend, ConVal’s Select Choir took first place in the Hillsboro Lion’s Club’s first annual New Hampshire High School Sing-Off Competition.

The Choir performed a challenging repertoire, including “Here We Come A-Caroling,” a traditional English carol arranged by Joshua Sparkman; “Weep O Mine Eyes” by John Bennett; “Sleeping in Winter’s Arms” from Wenceslas by Bob Chilcott; and “Tshosholoza,” a traditional South African freedom song, arranged by Jeffrey Ames. Grace Christensen (’20), Sean Roberts (’19), and Aria Drew (’20) were the soloists.

The $1000 prize from the High School Sing-Off Competition will go towards providing scholarships for the choir’s upcoming trip to Montreal, Canada.
