ConVal Regional High School students have begun their extended learning opportunity (ELO) in phaze welding at the MAxT makerspace on Vose Farm Road.
The Phaze Welding Technology Center provides a one-of-a-kind training program at MAxT which prepares students to become American Welding Society (AWS) Certified welders.
AWS provides the only certification that allows them to work as a welder anywhere in North America, opening up opportunities for higher wages and career advancement.
Led by instructor Dan Guillou, the certificate program is 130 hours, taken at the pace of the student, where they learn how to do basic metal inert gas (MIG), flux core and stick welds.
