ConVal Students Participate In All-State Music Festival

The New Hampshire All-State Music Festival took place this past weekend at the Capitol Center of the Arts in Concord.

The ConVal students who performed in this rigorous honors festival were: Zach Cassidy (’23, upright bass), Clara Christensen (’25, trumpet), Alissa Cutting (’22, soprano), and Rowan Davidson (’23, tenor).

Students prepare for auditions each fall and the top performers in each instrument or voice category are chosen to participate in one of five ensembles: Mixed Choir, Treble Choir, Orchestra, Concert Band, or Guitar Ensemble. The students gather in their respective ensembles for twelve hours of rehearsals over two and a half days, followed by a culminating performance at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord.

The All-State Music Festival is organized annually by the New Hampshire Music Educators’ Association. NHMEA is a federated state association of the National Association for Music Education whose mission is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all.
