Musical “Annie Jr.” To Be Performed August 1-2

ConVal Drama presents Annie, Jr.  on Thursday, August 1st at 6 pm, and Friday, August 2nd at 2 pm and 6 pm in the Lucy Hurlin Theatre at ConVal High School, Peterborough. Tickets are available at our.show/cvhs/annie and at the door – $8 for adults, and $5 for students and seniors.

Annie Jr. is presented in association with ConVal Summer Academy and features the sixth annual collaboration between ConVal High School, Great Brook Middle School, and South Meadow Middle School. Students coming into 5th-12th grades participated in a four-week course to put together this 60-minute version of the Broadway production.

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse, and Martin Charnin, Annie Jr. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Take some time out of your summer to consider a brighter “Tomorrow” with the hope of “Easy Street” to escape your “Hard Knock Life”, “Maybe” in “NYC”?
