ConVal To Offer Firefighter Academy I In Fall 2016

ConVal Regional High School has recently been approved to offer the Fire Fighter I class at ConVal next fall. Interested students should see their school counselor as soon as possible to apply.

Firefighter Academy I

ConVal High School, in collaboration with the New Hampshire’s Department of Safety and local fire departments, will be offering the Firefighter Academy I. The program starts with the NH Fire Standards and Training Commission’s Firefighter I certification. Year one will follow a public safety core curriculum where students will gain experience and knowledge of the firefighter’s responsibilities.

Student Qualifications: Acceptance into this program will include an application and a personal interview and the completed Physical Examination form from their physician. As part of this medical evaluation, students are to be considered physically fit and have the stamina and physical ability to work in untenable conditions for several consecutive 30-minute durations. Additionally, students will have to be evaluated regarding height phobia and claustrophobia and the ability to wear a mask.

The completed application packet needs to be submitted before the student can be enrolled in the program.  The physical form, once completed and signed by your physician, is required before the student is allowed to participate in the program.
