Robert Jahns, who goes by the name of “Nois7,” has over 900,000 followers on Instagram. He is a photo artist who specializes in surrealist photography.
At ConVal, the highly evocative and imaginative creations of Nois7 are taught and analyzed alongside the work of such famous photographers as Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, and others.
On Monday, Ms. Bastoni’s Introduction to Photo/Video class and Ms. Hodgdon’s German III class had the opportunity to conduct a Skype interview with the world-famous photographer who lives in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Ahead of the interview, students in both classes prepared questions which were read aloud in German. For over an hour, Nois7 answered questions and spoke, partly in English and partly in German, with Ms. Hodgdon’s students providing the translation. The questions covered a wide range of topics. What inspired Nois7 to get into photography? What prompted him to develop his unique style? How long has he used Photoshop? What are his future plans?
