Latest Edition Of “The Link” Is Published Tuesday

The Tuesday edition of the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript felt a bit thicker than usual, thanks to the newspaper-sized supplement called “The Link.”

“The Link” combines the former “Current,” the student newspaper, and “Pulp,” ConVal’s literary arts magazine, into one periodical publication. It includes reporting, poetry, photography, current events commentary, reflections, art work, short fiction and comics. All content in “The Link” is student-created. Students also do all the initial editing and layout work.

“I’m so proud that we have photos, art, and writing from homeschool students in our region, as well as a variety of students throughout ConVal,” said CTE teacher Amanda Bastoni who oversees the production of “The Link” in conjunction with Ben Conant of the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript. “A big thank you to ConVal English teachers who inspire our students to write, The Ledger-Transcript for making this opportunity possible, ConVal administration — especially Mr. Gib West for proofreading and editing — and of course, the hard work of the students.”

“The Link” was awarded “Highest Honors” for overall publication of a school magazine at the 68th New England Scholastic Press Association (NESPA) conference, held at the Boston University College of Communication on May 2.
