Library Hosts “Hour Of Code” TASC Event

The Library Learning Commons served as the location for ConVal’s Hour of Code TASC event on January 31.

Students scheduled themselves to this opportunity and were free to explore, with the assistance of librarians Rachael Bowman and Ashley Jones, a variety of coding-related activities. They either followed activity-related instructions or were free to experiment with coding on their own.

The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science.

The coding events have since become a concerted, worldwide effort to celebrate computer science. Last year, more than 130,000 Hour of Code events were conducted in over 180 countries.
