LNA Program Graduates ConVal, Conant Students

Sister Juanita Durgin, RN, American Red Cross instructor for the combined ConVal and Conant High School Nurse Assistant Training Program, conducted the graduation ceremony in the Lucy Hurlin Theatre this evening. The graduating students were: Dan Kashulines (ConVal), Sierra Landry (Conant), Jamie Mascitti (Conant), Jessie Mascitti (Conant), Veronika Raczek (ConVal), and Kacy Sauvola (Conant).

Durgin praised the class of January 2016 completers as her “smartest class ever.” Not one of the students of the intensive, 90-day course had to retake even a single assessment, all of them achieved either Merit Roll (89%-94%) or Honor Roll (95%-100%) status and, with zero absences or tardies, the entire class achieved a perfect attendance record.

Student speaker Dan Kashulines thanked Sister Durgin for teaching this class for the past three months and expressed his gratitude for having been given this challenging but rewarding learning opportunity at no cost. The Nurse Assistant Training Program includes theory and clinical components as well as two-year CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. The course typically costs $1,500 but was offered to the ConVal and Conant LNA students for free.

The American Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training Program is offered at ConVal Regional High School on a quarterly basis. For more information, please call Donna Noonan at 924-3869 x3009.
