Manufacturing Students Visit Local Businesses

Students who are enrolled in the ATC Manufacturing program went on a field trip to two local businesses — the D.S. Huntington Architectural Woodworking Company and the PHAZE Welding Technology Center — to explore the manufacturing process, from design to finished product.

“Both of these facilities offered hands-on demonstrations of all the steps that are involved in production,” said Michael Scaramellino. “The tour guides also gave advice regarding potential internship opportunities as students advance in the Manufacturing program at ConVal.”

“But what made this experience truly special,” Scaramelliono continued, “is that they also shared what expectations and skills employers and companies are looking for as students make career choices and get ready to enter the workforce.”
