Spanish Club Celebrates Cinco de Mayo

Members of ConVal’s Spanish, French and German clubs, and some friends, celebrated Cinco de Mayo — or the fifth of May — with a fiesta after school in the ConVal cafeteria. There were snacks, music, songs, trivia, prizes and a piñata. ¡Feliz cinco de mayo!

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. Cinco de Mayo traditions include parades, mariachi music performances and street festivals in celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
