ConVal students learn how to make their own Android apps with the MIT AppInventor, an innovative program jointly created by MIT and Google.
AppInventor transforms the complex language of text-based coding into visual, drag-and-drop building blocks. The simple graphical interface grants even inexperienced coders the ability to create a basic, fully functional app within an hour or less.
In this unit, students go through the entire process of concept creation, learning about step-by-step procedural programming, actual app creation prototyping, and testing with a network-connected ASUS tablet.
The final step is the presentation of the finished app to the class.
