Students Organize “Get Out The Vote” Effort

An ad hoc student group has been formed at ConVal High School to get students to register to vote. With the help of some parent volunteers, the non-partisan “Get Out The Vote” team seeks to motivate first-time voters to participate in the upcoming New Hampshire primary and presidential election.

For a representative democracy to function, it is essential that government reflect the interests of all of its people, including those who are of high school age. But despite making up a large potential voting bloc in the country today, Generation Z voters are underrepresented at both the state and federal level.

In the coming weeks, the “Get Out The Vote” group will provide information on how to register in any of the nine ConVal School District towns. Look for them in the hallway in front of the cafeteria during lunches.
