In Mr. Bills’ Graphic Design 1 class, students give advertising agency presentations as part of their career path unit.
The scenario had groups of four students fulfill different jobs of an ad agency: account executive, creative director, layout artist, and copywriter. The fictional company was a hair replacement company with the name of “Hair Apparent.”
Each member of the group contributed work to the final presentation which covered the designs of the logo, a business card, letterhead, and stationery. In addition, a print ad had to be created that had to adhere to specific space and content requirements.
After the student presentations, the work was critiqued by fellow students and Mr. Bills provided expert feedback. An overall “account winner” was determined in each of the two Graphic Design 1 classes.
