Students Succeed at National German Exam

Congratulations to Thomas Flynn, who earned Gold in Level 2 of the National German Exam. Because of his score, Thomas will be eligible to apply for a scholarship for summer study in Germany.

Other ConVal students of German who received distinctions at the National German Exam were: Adeline Regis and Evalyn Harriot (Silver, Level 2); Olivia Michaels (Bronze, Level 2); Luka Stowell (Achievement Award, Level 2); Izzy Jobin (Bronze, Level 4); Ronia Foecking, Kai Reitnauer, and Ryan Whitney (Achievement Award, Level 4).

The National German Exam is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) and is administered each year to over 20,000 high school students of German. The exam is comprised of 100 multiple-choice questions, divided into two parts with 50 questions each. The listening and viewing portion is 40 minutes in length and consists of a series of short audio and video segments. The reading portion is 45 minutes in length and consists of a variety of print texts, including graphs and images. All materials used in the exam come from authentic resources.
