The New Hampshire Teen Institute will be awarding 20 scholarships to sophomores and juniors for the Teen Institute’s Summer Leadership Program (SLP). The one-week Leadership Program will be held in Greenfield, NH at the Barbara C. Harris Camp & Conference Center in August 2018.
The SLP is a residential week of leadership development, self-discovery, and social connection. SLP brings together up to 100 diverse high school students from across NH and New England. Throughout the week, participants increase their knowledge on a variety of topics, including substance misuse and addiction, bullying, sexual health, conflict resolution, and health and wellness. To learn more about the Teen Institute, please visit http://www.nhteeninstitute.org/.
To apply, students need to complete the application at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/monadnockyouth where they will answer some basic questions and submit either an essay, video, or podcast that answers the questions: “What are the strengths of your community? What is one thing you would like to change?” The Teen Institute can provide information sessions at schools for interested students.
The application deadline is April 25, 2018. Monadnock Voices for Prevention, Reality Check, We’ve Got Your Back, and MADAC will select the students and schedule a meeting with students prior to and after attending the SYP. Scholarships will be divided equitably among the schools and will depend on response rates.
Note: This is not a school district-sponsored program.
