Congratulations to the four students who were inducted to the National Technical Honor Society on April 20, 2023.



Matthew Cutting, Jennifer Hopkins, Aeva McCullough-Szehi, and Keegan Ross were inducted for demonstrating academic prowess in their career and technical education classes as well as being community-minded. 



These students were joined by previously inducted students as they pledged to continue to uphold these high standards.

Over the weekend the ConVal Youth and Government Group attended the Youth Legislative Session. 



Two ConVal students received awards. Senior Eva McCullough received the award for Most Outstanding Senator and Junior Gabby Ramsden was one of three people to receive Best Legislation for her bill. Ramsden was also sworn in as the 2024 New Hampshire YMCA Youth Governor and will be traveling to Washington DC in June for a national conference.



Congratulations to all of the participants of Youth and Government for their hard work.

Congratulations to the students who have been selected as the recipients of this year's Scholar Athlete Awards. The awards are given jointly by the Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA), the governing body for sports competitions in New Hampshire, and the New Hampshire Athletic Directors’ Association (NHADA), the state professional organization for all athletic directors in New Hampshire.



The awards go to multi-varsity sport seniors who demonstrate strong academic standing by having achieved at least one of the following: carried a minimum of B+ average; be ranked in the top 25% of their graduating class; or scored 24 or higher on the  ACT or scored 1100 or higher (Math and Reading) on the SAT.

Congratulations to sophomore Clara Christensen, senior Rowan Davidson, and senior Avery Swasey who represented ConVal at the New Hampshire Music Educator's All-State Music Festival in Concord this past weekend, March 30-April 1. 



Performances took place at the Capital Center for the Arts. Christensen played trumpet in the band, Davidson sang in the mixed choir, and Swasey sang in the treble choir. The students were selected for these ensembles through a challenging and competitive audition process. 



Performing at All-State is the highest honor for New Hampshire music students.

This past weekend, March 23-25, two ConVal seniors represented the high school music program at the distinguished New England Music Festival. Hadi Lancaric and Rowan Davidson were selected through a rigorous audition process. Performing at this festival is a wonderful honor and distinction for our students.



The festival concert took place at the Woodstock Academy in Connecticut this year.  Lancaric sang alto voice in the Choir, performing a repertoire ranging from the well-known piece "Jenny Kissed Me" by Eric W. Barnum to the romantic era Lied by Johannes Brahms, "Der Gang Zum Liebchen." The choir was under the direction of Hofstra choral director David Fryling. 



Davidson played flute in the band and performed a wide-ranging repertoire, from Chris Pilsner's "Dum Spiro Spero" to a student favorite, "Rocketship" by Kevin Day. The band was under the direction of the associate director of bands at the Univerity of Illinois, Dr. Elizabeth Peterson.

Congratulations to ConVal science teacher Carol Young who has been selected by the nonprofit organization Ecology Project International (EPI) to participate in an 8-day Teacher Fellowship in Costa Rica in April.



She will be immersed in the rainforests and beaches of Costa Rica’s Caribbean slope. Days will be spent collecting data and planning hands-on lessons near Pacuare Reserve, a field research station managed by EPI. 



Young will work alongside researchers and instructors on a variety of ongoing ecological studies, such as monitoring leatherback sea turtles and observing the behavior and social structures of primates. 



Throughout the program, Young and other Fellows will learn strategies they can bring back to their classrooms to help students observe, question, collect data, and critically analyze the world around them.



Established as a nonprofit organization in 2001, the mission of Ecology Project International (EPI) is to inspire youth with nature and empower them with science, fostering tomorrow's leaders. EPI envisions a diverse movement building communities that cherish and restore the ecosystems that sustain them.

McCullough, Ramsden Receive Awards At Youth And Government Conference

Over the weekend the ConVal Youth and Government Group attended the Youth Legislative Session.

Two ConVal students received awards. Senior Eva McCullough received the award for Most Outstanding Senator and Junior Gabby Ramsden was one of three people to receive Best Legislation for her bill.
