[post_content] => There is no question about it: Under ATC teacher Amanda Bastoni, the ConVal Photo and Video program has made great strides and met with success at several regional and national competitions. Last year, a ConVal Junior won Gold at the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for his Rembrandt-lighting photo of an egg. This year, two ConVal students are National Silver medal winners.
Congratulations to sophomore Megan MacLaren; her photo, "Question Everything," was awarded a National Silver Medal. Congratulations also to junior Dominique Wheeler; her photo, "Harley Beth," was awarded a National Silver Medal.
Only 24 middle and high students from the state of NH were selected to receive National awards, so it is a particular honor for ConVal to have two representatives chosen for their art work. The award National Awards Ceremony will take place on June 8th at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

[post_content] => In cooperation with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) will be administered at ConVal High School during TASC on March 17, 2017.
This survey is about health behavior. It has been developed to study behavior that may affect student health. The survey is conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) every two years among representative samples of 9th through 12th grade students to monitor six types of health-risk behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death and disability among youth and adults.
The information students give is completely anonymous and will be used to improve health education for youths in the state. Completing the survey is voluntary and students will have the option of not completing the survey. Parents who wish to review the survey questions ahead of time can see a sample of the survey here.

ConVal played an excellent game, with many different players scoring baskets, on occasion coming from unusual angles or spanning 3-point distances, which brought the enthusiastic crowd to its feet in applause.
Congratulations, players, on a hard-fought victory!
